Efforts are underway to return a senior football team to the town of Widnes, Cheshire beginning with the 2026/27 football season.
A steering committee is currently leading the efforts but an advisory board will be elected in the Spring and a Widnes Town FC Community Trust will also be created to oversee our academy teams, fundraising and community efforts.
We are currently awaiting confirmation of where we will be able to play home fixtures and in which league we are likely to be placed.
Widnes Town Football Club is not affiliated with any existing club or past iterations of teams in the Widnes area, and this is a completely new endeavour with aspirations of creating a team that the community can get behind and call their own.
Our goal is to create at least a men’s senior team and ladies senior team in year one, with the possibility of academy teams subject to playing pitch capacity.
